Change a person's name, team, or alias

When you select this item from the menu you'll see the following:

The most common reason for changing someone's Full Name is for example, when "Michael" prefers to be called "Mike". Note that this name change affects this classroom only. Your system administrator can change a person's name system-wide.

The Alias setting determines how the user will be known within Manhattan's Anonymous Discussion module. Most teachers who use the Anonymous Discussion module leave this set to "anonymous" for all students. Another possibility is to change your own Alias setting to your real name, so your messages within the Anonymous Discussion module are not anonymous at all. The use of the Anonymous Discussion module is explored in About the Anonymous Discussion module

Manhattan's Team Discussion and Team/Teacher Discussion modules, which are covered in The Team Discussion and Team/Teacher Discussion Modules, depend on the ability to assign your students to teams. This form, pictured above, allows you to change the team assignment for students one at a time. (Also see Assign teams) A student can be assigned to one of twenty-six teams, labeled A through Z. If you do not plan to use teams, you can leave all students set to team A.

The teacher can also change her own information using this Configuration menu selection. You might change your Real Name from say, "Jane Banana" to "Prof. Jane Banana Ph.D.".
